About St Mark Lutheran Church

St. Mark Lutheran Church is an ELCA congregation, located in Belleville, Illinois. (Metro St. Louis area) St. Mark Lutheran Church - Is a community of people who find joy and hope for daily living in the Promise God makes to us through Jesus Christ, and who share that joy and hope by serving one another, our neighborhood, and the world. What We Believe We are Christians. Together with all Christians, we hold Jesus at the center of our faith. The Good News he brings into the world is what we trust--here and hereafter. Together with all Christians, we are led by that Good News to confess one God--as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We are Lutheran Christians. Central themes in our life and worship are these convictions: 1. Christ offers God's mercy and forgiveness to both the "righteous and sinners." That is what makes the Good News both Good and New. 2. We receive these gifts simply by trusting in the God who promises them, through Jesus Christ our Lord. 3. We seek to live our lives--in ourdaily work, in our day-to-day relationships--showing others as best we can the power and benefits of life in Christ as we trust God's promise.
